Our nut and chocolate bar makes for a tasty mid-day snack or rich healthy dessert. This vegan and gluten-free friendly treat is packed with peanuts and cashews, which are a good source of plant protein and healthy fats. We add a coconut cream layer and finish the bar with a coating of rich dark chocolate on top.
Cashews have a low glycemic index (GI), which means they won’t spike your blood sugar levels, and are full of fiber, to help digestion, healthy fats and high-quality plant-based protein. They’re also loaded with magnesium, which helps with heart health as well as regulating nerves and blood pressure. Cashews may also be good for people with Type 2 diabetes by controlling blood sugar and insulin levels. We use organic cashews from an independent collective in Wonogiri, Indonesia, that supports small-holder farmers and their families. Coconut oil and cacao butter are good sources of healthy fats that are important for proper brain function, reducing hunger and raising good blood cholesterol (HDL) levels. Dark chocolate is high in polyphenols and flavanols, which helps improve blood flow, reduce blood pressure and improves mood. Sesame seeds are a good source of fiber and healthy fats and may help lower cholesterol and high blood pressure.
