Forest Loaf is a dark fruit and nut bread, made with a blend of rye and wheat flours, plus the added crunch of cashew nuts and the natural sweetness of raisins. It’s also a lower calorie and lower-gluten bread option. We use roasted wheat malt flour and barley malt to give it a light malty flavour and less gluten than an all-wheat loaf. Enjoy with our healthy dips, nut butters or homemade jam. Make a sandwich or grill for toast. We make our Forest Loaf with wheat flour, pure filtered water, Bavarian Flour, cashew nuts, raisins, butter, yeast and Bali sea salt. Bavarian flour is a mix of rye, roasted wheat malt flour and barley malt extract. Our fresh-baked breads are a good source of healthy carbohydrates in a balanced diet.
Forest Loaf is a good source of B-complex vitamins, which help your body produce energy, and fiber, to help digestion. Raisins add some natural sweetness and iron, which is good for healthy red blood cells. Cashews have a low glycemic index (GI), which means they won’t spike your blood sugar levels, and are full of fiber, healthy fats and high-quality plant-based protein. They’re also loaded with magnesium, which helps with heart health as well as regulating nerves and blood pressure. Cashews may also be good for people with Type 2 diabetes by controlling blood sugar and insulin levels. We use organic cashews that we source from an independent collective in Wonogiri, Indonesia, that supports small-holder farmers and their families.
