Manuka Farm Grading System – MGS (Molan Gold Standard) is a system of assessing the level or levels of Methylglyoxal contained in Manuka Honey to guarantee purity and quality. Molan Gold Standard was created by Dr. Peter Molan, who is one of the pioneers of Manuka Honey and the leading honey expert in the world since 1981.
Manuka honey is a special type of honey produced by bees that pollinate the flowers of the Manuka tree (Leptospermum scoparium), native to New Zealand and Australia. Manuka honey is rich in antioxidants and has been extensively studied for its antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory effects.
Benefits:
- Increase body resistance (immunity)
- Helps overcome digestive problems.
- Prevent infection in wounds
- Treats sore throats and mouth ulcers.
- Increase energy.
- Maintaining healthy facial skin.
- Helps reduce inflammation
- As a natural sweetener
How to consume:
- Can be consumed from 1 year of age and above
- Consume 1 tablespoon 1–3 times a day
- Allow a 30 minute break after consuming foods containing protein, because Methylglyoxal (antibacterial) can be damaged by the presence of protein.
- It is recommended to use a spoon made of plastic and wood because a stainless spoon can reduce the level of anti-bacteria contained in manuka honey. If you have to use a stainless spoon, do not let it come into contact with honey for too long.
- Avoid inserting a spoon that has been exposed to saliva into the bottle of manuka honey because saliva can destroy the enzyme content in manuka honey.
- Do not mix manuka honey with hot water or cook it as this will remove most of the active enzymes in manuka honey. Add to tea or warm water (not hot water). Add to juices, smoothies, yoghurt, cereal etc.
Storage Method:
- Store in a cool and dry place
- Avoid direct exposure to sunlight
- It is not recommended to store it in the refrigerator because it will cause the honey to crystallize.
