Sambal Sehati is our version of the classic Indonesian red chili sauce, found in kitchens, cafes and warungs across the archipelago. It’s a spicy condiment that adds bite and flavour to a wide range of dishes: egg, fish, meat or plant based. We make it with tomatoes, red chilis, Bali heritage garlic, coconut oil, cane sugar and Bali sea salt. Chilis and tomatoes are high in Vitamin C, betacarotene (which your body converts to Vitamin A) and heart-healthy lycopenes. Capsaicin (the active ingredient in chilis) may help with pain reduction and weight loss. Coconut oil is a good source of healthy fats that are important for proper brain function, reducing hunger and raising the good blood cholesterol (HDL) levels.
