Introduced to the region by the Dutch in the 19th century, this coffee was thought to be extinct, until Sumatran-born Ibu Yanti Anita, revived the original Mandailing Estate Coffee plantation 20 years ago. By rediscovering Mandailing Estate Coffee, Ibu Anita has also restored a rich chapter in Sumatran history.
