Our tomato quiche is a veggie twist on our classic quiche. We use sun dried tomatoes for a tart, tangy flavour and cashews for extra protein. Our creamy quiche for breakfast is a delicious non-meat way to get a protein boost that will keep you going all morning. Top with some of our Sambal Hijau or Sambal Sehati for a little spice. Add a salad or steamed vegetables, and you’ve got a healthy, fiber-rich lunch or dinner. We make them with wheat flour, whipping cream, coconut oil, pure filtered water, Parmesan cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, cashews, leek, fresh parsley, black pepper, Bali sea salt and eggs.
Coconut oil is a good source of healthy fats that are important for proper brain function, reducing hunger and raising the good blood cholesterol (HDL) levels. Eggs contain choline, an important nutrient for healthy cell membranes and brain function, and antioxidants that are important for good eye health. Leeks are a good source of B vitamins, for good metabolism, healthy red blood cell development, and reducing inflammation in the body, and potassium, which helps nerves function properly. Tomatoes are a good source of Vitamin C and heart healthy lycopene. The cream and parmesan cheese deliver a dose of calcium, important for strong bones. Cashews have a low glycemic index (GI), which means they won’t spike your blood sugar levels, and are full of fiber, to help digestion, healthy fats and high-quality plant-based protein. They’re also loaded with magnesium, which helps with heart health as well as regulating nerves and blood pressure. Cashews may also be good for people with Type 2 diabetes by controlling blood sugar and insulin levels. We use organic cashews that we source from an independent collective in Wonogiri, Indonesia, that supports small-holder farmers and their families.
