Hot Sambal (Sambal Sehati)

Sambal Sehati is our version of the classic Indonesian red chili sauce, found in kitchens, cafes and warungs across the archipelago. It’s a spicy condiment that adds bite and flavor to a wide range of dishes: egg, fish, meat or plant based.

Chilis and tomatoes are high in Vitamin C, beta-carotene (which your body converts to Vitamin A) and heart-healthy lycopene. Capsaicin (the active ingredient in chilis) may help with pain reduction and weight loss. Coconut oil is a good source of healthy fats that are important for proper brain function, reducing hunger and raising the good blood cholesterol (HDL) levels.
